Star of the week 16: Sama Pavan Reddy

Theme: Raja Mohan Roy - The Father of Indian Journalism

The students of Class X conducted a thematic assembly on ‘Raja Ram Mohan Roy – The father of Indian Journalism’. It started off with a PowerPoint presentation that included details about his birth, family, education, occupation and achievements. On the second day, Raja Ram Mohan Roy’s role as a social reformer was depicted through the enactment of a skit that focused on ‘sati’ and his role in its abolition.
On the last and final day, information about the ‘Brahmo Samaj’, a social reform organisation that was founded by him was shared. The assembly ended with a quiz which refreshed everyone’s minds and gave a recapitulation of the entire week.

On the whole, it was a very informative and interesting journey for all the students. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the presentation.
